Our Experiments with Force and Motion
The Tug a War experiment was to test unbalanced forces on the rope. The students chose the sides for each experiment and then conducted the experiments. They were testing to see which "team" had more force in order to move the rope further to their side.
The ping pong/golf ball experiment tested the hypothesis about gravity. The students had to drop a ping pong ball and a golf ball from the same height and at the same time. They were to see which object hit the floor first. They concluded that both items hit the floor at the same time. |
Students used balloons and carpet and their hair to conduct some experiments to learn about static electricity. We rubbed the balloons along the carpet and some heads to make a charge and then were able to move a tin can across the table using the repelling force from the balloon on the tin can. The students then used the balloon to move their hair. |
